Review of Seattle’s Ruth’s Chris Steak House – Downtown

No doubt you’ve heard about Ruth’s Chris Steak House for great steaks, but did you know that they have an awesome Happy Hour? Chris and I love going to Happy Hour when we travel down to the States (they really should have more here in Vancouver!). Recently, we’ve discovered our new favourite Happy Hour hang out.

Ruth’s Chris Steak House offers Happy Hour (or as they like to call it their “Prime Hour”) nightly from 4-6pm and 9-11pm (9-10pm Sundays). They serve good quality eats and very yummy drinks and cocktails at pretty awesome prices. Be sure to visit downtown Seattle for this treat! (There is also a Bellevue location, but it’s not as yummy).

For yummy eats, the Prime Rib Sliders (2 for $5.95) are to die for! These have got to be the most juicy and succulent lil things I’ve ever tasted! Moist tender slices of flavorful prime rib beef tucked into little warm slider buns. Perfectly comforting finger food.

The BBQ Shrimp ($5.95) is another favourite. Large plump pieces of prawns in a savoury creamy garlic sauce. I can’t quite pinpoint all the ingredients in the sauce, but damn it’s yummy! Chris and I clean the plate everytime with the crispy garlic toast on the side. Definitely not your everyday BBQ shrimp.

We’ve also tried the Seared Ahi Tuna with Spicy Mustard ($5.95). But we’re not too fond of this dish. The smokey flavour of the Ahi Tuna overpowers the actual taste of the tuna. And the spicy mustard does not help.

The drinks and cocktails are also oh-so-good, and only $3.95 (including glasses of wine)! My favourites include the Lemon Drop Martini and the Apple Martini, both are sweet and refreshing. And just because the price is small, there is no skimping on the alcohol content!

So, if you happen to be downtown Seattle and looking for some yummy eats and drinks to unwind, Happy Hour at Ruth’s Chris Steak House is a definite must!
